Kudzanai Chiurai is a Zimbabwean-born artist, who creates art that reimagines the black experience. His piece ‘We Live In Silence VII’ seen on One Source Live explores the post-colonial experience on the continent. His current African art collection was inspired by a speech from the film Soleil Ô by Mauritian filmmaker Med Hondo. Chiuri’s work provides biting critiques of the continent's post-colonial leadership and political agendas. This particular piece focuses on a female character who plays every role herself, highlighting the contribution of African women to the struggles of the first post-colony generation.
