Osborne Macharia is one of One Source Live’s most up-and-coming featured African artists. He is a Kenyan-born, self-proclaimed ‘Afrofuturist’ and in this image, he tells the story of his country's fight for independence through fictional, freedom fighters. This piece features the fictional character of Karanja Jere, a character based on a group of rebel fighters in Kenya who lead a revolt against the British in the 50s. This particular character is the ‘mole’ who operates underground and burrows through the soil to lookout, and can see for up to a kilometre away.
